Originally designed for long days in the Boundary Waters, this travel chessboard is made to go with you – from trailhead to campsite, from road trips to red-eye flights, from quiet cafés to competitive chess clubs. The chess set disappears into your pack, sets up in seconds, and stays put when it matters.

The low-profile design of both the chessboard and the chess pieces keeps weight to a minimum without sacrificing durability. Materials resist wear, moisture, movement, and repeated use in real-world conditions. Chess pieces attache securely to the chessboard so you can play on uneven ground, pack it up mid-game, or carry it without losing your position.

Unlike many travel sets, The Travel Chessboard is designed for clarity and playability. High-contrast squares and thoughtful piece design make it easy to read at a glance—whether you’re playing in bright sun or low light.

Tips:

• When you open your chessboard, fold it slightly in the opposite direction to lay completely flat.
• When you close your chessboard, we recommend pinching each corner closed first, then closing each slide like a zip lock bag.
• Store captured pieces on the fastener strip on your side of the board. The board can be closed up mid-game to finish later.
